PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic field generator capable of being structured in a compact and light-weighted size inexpensively. SOLUTION: The magnetic field generator 10 includes a cylindrical magnetic circuit 12. The magnetic circuit 12 is constituted by coupling units 12a and 12b in an axial direction. The units 12a and 12b are formed in a dodecahedral parallelopiped by annularly placing permanent magnets 16 and 18. The units 12a and 12b are equipped with a plurality of axially extending holes 20 across the circumferentially adjacent permanent magnets 16 and 18. A regulating member 22 with a shape corresponding to the hole 20 is provided in each hole 20 of the units 12a and 12b to regulate the peripheral and radial movement of each of the permanent magnets 16 and 18.
