PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of suppressing any partial wear of a shoulder rib and preventing any bite of foreign matters in a main groove. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 1 includes a main groove 2 extending in the tire circumferential direction, a shoulder rib 3 demarcated by the main groove 2, and a projection 4 which is arranged in the main groove 2 and has a tip of a projection shape in sectional view in the tire meridian direction. When the tire rolls and the shoulder rib 3 is brought into contact with the ground, the projection 4 is brought into contact with the ground.
