PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the operation stop of an air conditioner caused by communication abnormality. SOLUTION: The air conditioner 10 with an outdoor unit 11 and a plurality of indoor units 12 connected by communication wiring 13, is constituted to stop the operation of the outdoor unit 11 and indoor units 12 by determining the occurrence of communication abnormality when the situation of communication made between the outdoor unit 11 and indoor units 12 exceeds a criterion for determining communication abnormality. As a pre-stage of stopping the operation of equipment when communication abnormality occurs between the outdoor unit 11 and indoor units 12, an outdoor unit communication speed changing part 15 searches communication speeds at which the frequency of communication abnormality is less than a specified value, changes the communication speed to the highest communication speed out of the communication speeds and changes the characteristics of an outdoor unit passing band limiting part 16 to characteristics coinciding with the communication speed.
