PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a pivot receiving surface excellent in the posture adjustment of a head supporting mechanism in a magnetic disk drive. SOLUTION: Three projected parts 95a, 95b, 95c are formed in a base for supporting a pivot assembly. The projected part 95a is formed on a line 107 which bisects an angle formed by lines 103 and 105 for defining the floating range of a head/slider on a magnetic disk, and the projected parts 95b and 95c are formed in positions apart by 120°from the projected part 95a. The heights of the projected parts are adjusted to adjust the posture of the pivot assembly, and a head supporting mechanism is corrected to a predetermined posture in the floating range of the head/slider on the magnetic disk.
