PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam iron which can efficiently finish crease stretching by sufficiently steam clothes with jetted steam without increasing the steam amount. SOLUTION: At least a part of a plurality of steam holes which are provided on the ironing surface are continuously arranged in a row, and at the same time, at least a part of a plurality of recesses are arranged in a plurality of rows along the steam holes which are continuously arranged in a row. Steam which is jetted out from the steam holes not only steams clothes in the spaces in the steam holes, but also continuously steams clothes further by entering the spaces in the recesses which are provided into a plurality of rows along the steam holes.
