<p>There is provided a ranking server capable of suppressing an initial cost and an operation cost and totalizing use requests for the same content existing in a plurality of locations. Images (4, 5) as contents are actually stored in content servers (6, 7), respectively. The ranking server (1) contains meta data on the images (4, 5), i.e., data indicating what kind of images are the images (4, 5), meta data such as temporary URL (4s, 5s), and thumbnails. A ranking site (2) performs search for the meta data as a search object and the search results are arranged in the descending order of the number of downloads and displayed. In the ranking server (1), guidance to the temporary URL (4s, 5s) is performed by link not only when performing a download request from actual URL (4u, 5u) but also when a user (14) performs a download request in the ranking site (2), and the ranking server (1) totalizes the number of the downloads.</p> |
