<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing which has adequate abrasion resistance and the sufficient rolling fatigue life even when having a rotation range of a rolling element thereon limited. <P>SOLUTION: Bearing washers 11 and 12 and a needle roller 13 of a thrust roller bearing 10 are produced by the steps of: forming a material made from a steel comprising 0.6-2.0 mass% V, 0.10-0.80 mass% C, 0.1-1.5 mass% Si, 0.1-1.5 mass% Mn, 0.5-3.0 mass% Cr, 1.5 mass% or less Mo and the balance iron (Fe) with unavoidable impurities, into a predetermined shape; and then carbonitriding, quenching and tempering it to adjust a carbon content and nitrogen content in the surface layer of the rolling surface respectively to 0.50 mass% to 2.0 mass% and 0.20 mass% to 2.0 mass%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
