<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately setting a correct peak-to-peak voltage value corresponding to the environmental fluctuation, even when there are wide environmental fluctuations. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted so that a direct current measuring means for measuring the DC value of the current flowing between a charging means and an image carrier is included; and in respective regions, that is, a stable charging region to which the peak-to-peak voltage value obtaining the uniformly charged state of the image carrier belongs and a non-stable charged area, to which the peak-to-peak voltage not obtaining the uniformly electrified state of the image carrier belongs, a linear function approximated and showing peak-to-peak voltage relation and the DC value in the stable charging area and the non-stable charging area is separately calculated by a control means, based on the measured value measured by the DC measuring means, and a peak-to-peak voltage making the DC value given by the linear function obtained from the measured value in the stable charging region equal to the DC value given by the linear function, obtained from the measured value in the non-stable electrification area is calculated; then, a peak-to-peak voltage setting processing for setting the calculated peak-to-peak voltage value as the appropriate peak-to-peak voltage value of the AC voltage is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
