PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a columnar spacer on an active substrate and reduce the production cost of a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: In forming a passivation insulating layer, having a function of protecting the active substrate or photosensitive organic insulating layer pattern formed on the source/drain wiring, a columnar spacer is formed on the active substrate by a means of thickly forming a part of film thickness of the passivation insulation layer, consisting of the photosensitive organic insulation that forms the photosensitive organic insulating layer pattern locally on the passivation insulating layer concurrently using half-tone exposure technology, or by a means of forming thickly a part of the film thickness of the photosensitive organic insulating layer formed on the source/drain wiring, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
