TREATMENT METHOD OF SOIL POLLUTED WITH ARSENIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of soil polluted with arsenic by suppressing elution of arsenic to low enough to satisfy the ambient environmental quality standard by making the arsenic in the arsenic-polluted soil insoluble even if the compound form of arsenic in the arsenic-polluted soil is an organic arsenic compound or an inorganic compound of trivalent or pentavalent arsenic. SOLUTION: The treatment method of soil polluted with arsenic involves heating the arsenic-polluted soil at a temperature in a range from 200 to 700°C and adding and mixing a calcium compound and water to and with the heated arsenic-polluted soil. Alternatively, the treatment method of soil polluted with arsenic involves heating a mixture of the arsenic-polluted soil with a calcium compound at a temperature in a range from 200 to 700°C and adding and mixing water to and with the heated mixture.
