PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultra-wideband antenna (defined as UWB). SOLUTION: This UWB antenna has at least one radiator (2) for transmitting and/or receiving an electromagnetic wave. The radiator (2) has a planar elliptical shape for the whole UWB frequency band, and has at least one elliptical gap (3) for omitting the transmission and reception of an electromagnetic wave at a predefined wavelengthλ, whereby the length (l) of the gap (3) depends on the predefined wavelengthλ.
