PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a matter that difference in print chromaticness between both directions and low sheet feed precision or print position precision becomes more conspicuous when the printing direction is switched within the character height on account of character print position when a small character is printed bidirectionally at high speed. SOLUTION: In the printer where input image information is subjected to writing processing in units of band and converted into raster data being fed to an image forming engine and printed in units of band, a print object striding over a print boundary is detected and print width is altered not to stride over the print boundary when such an object is detected.
