PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern forming apparatus which can prevent excess ink from being deposited on a body on which a pattern is formed at the time of an idle ejection. SOLUTION: The pattern forming apparatus 10-1 is equipped with an IJ head 60 which ejects ink to the body A such as a glass substrate, a suction table 40 which sucks the body A and an ink pan 100 or the like set on the suction table 40. The ink pan 100 has a bottom face 101, a side face 102 and the like formed on the periphery of the bottom face 101.
