PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable hard disc recorder in which the video data in DV stream format stored in an own hard disc are easily dubbed to a general-purpose DVD recorder by allowing it to be a target device of the general-purpose DVD recorder. SOLUTION: If, with a tape recorder/player subunit mounted, a DVD recorder is included among equipments connected to an own unit through a bus (YES at S5), the information that the own unit includes the tape recorder/player subunit is provided to the DVD recorder, so as to be operated as the tape recorder/player subunit based on control from the DVD recorder (S6). The video data in DV stream format recorded in the hard disc drive of own unit are easily dubbed to the general-purpose DVD recorder as it can be the target device of the general-purpose DVD recorder.
