PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for detecting a rotation angle having a compact and inexpensive system configuration and provided with performance equivalent to a resolver. SOLUTION: The rotation angle detection system 1 comprises both a magnetic or optical analog sensor 2 mounted to a motor 100 and a signal converting circuit 3 for modulating sine-wave signals S1 and cosine-wave signals S2, two-phase rotation angle position signals to be output from the analog sensor 2, converting them into balanced modulation signals capable of long-distance transmission, and outputting them. The signal converting circuit 3 is provided with both a reference signal oscillator for outputting reference signals S5 of a prescribed period and a prescribed waveform and a balanced modulator 6 for performing amplitude modulation on the reference signals S5 by the sine-wave signals S1 and the cosine-wave signals S2 and generating and outputting sine-wave balanced modulation signals S1' and cosine-wave balanced modulation signals S2'.
