PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction generating mechanism with a cone spring free of an assembling error. SOLUTION: The friction generating mechanism 8 comprises a second bush 15 and the second cone spring 17. The second cone spring 17 has a plurality of first cutout portions 17a arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction and a plurality of second cutout portions 17b arranged between the adjacent first cutout portions 17a at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. The second bush 15 has at least one first protrusion portion 15c for engaging with the first cutout portion 17a in the rotating direction and at least one second protrusion portion 15d for engaging with the second cutout portion 17b in the rotating direction. When the second cone spring 17 is assembled inside out on the second bush 15, either the first cutout portion 17a cannot engage with the first protrusion portion 15c or the second cutout portion 17b cannot engage with the second protrusion portion 15d.
