A system (100) is provided for docking two vehicles (102, 104). In one exemplary embodiment, the system (100) includes a first and a second vehicle (102, 104). The first vehicle (102) has a port (106) thereon. The port (106) has a first magnetic mechanism (108) coupled thereto, and the first magnetic mechanism (108) is configured to provide a first magnetic polarity. The second vehicle (104) is in communication with the first vehicle (102) and has an interface (112) thereon. The interface (112) has a second magnetic mechanism (114) coupled thereto and is configured to selectively provide a first and a second magnetic polarity. The first and second magnetic mechanisms (108, 114) are magnetically attracted to one another when the second magnetic polarity is selected and repel one another when the first magnetic polarity is selected.
