The system has control electronics for a drive device which drive the movement of a sliding door along a door displacement path. The system is formed and arranged such that the movement of the sliding door/window pane is changed after the detection of an obstacle in a window displacement path/door displacement path, respectively by the B and C sensors (30,31) of a sensor system (3).
