<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel vehicle occupant protective device using an inflatable curtain. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle occupant protective device 14 inflatable for assisting protection of an occupant on a vehicle comprises strands of material woven together to form a first and a second woven seams 120 and 150 of a single layer including strands of material from (a) an overlapped woven panel and (b) an overlapped panel. The first and the second seams 120 and 150 assist to define a volume part 60 inflatable in the vehicle occupant protective device 14 inflatable between the overlapped panels.
