PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dispersion of high-molecular weight acrylamide-based polymer. SOLUTION: When producing the dispersion by polymerizing a monomer containing acrylamide by a disperse polymerization method in an aqueous solution of a salt, an acrylamide produced by hydrating acrylonitrile by catalytic action of nitrile hydratase is used as the acrylamide to produce the high-molecular weight water-soluble polymer dispersion.
