PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article transporting system capable of preventing or restricting useless travelling of travelling bogies even in the case of continuously transporting articles on the basis of a plurality of transporting instructions. SOLUTION: The article transporting system is provided with the travelling bogies 14 for transporting articles, which travels in a carriage travelling route 15, based on an instruction to transport. The carriage travelling route 15 comprises a stock position 11, in which the travelling bogie 14 receives an article W to be stocked, a storage position 18, in which the travelling bogie 14 puts in/out the article W in relation to a storage destination, a delivery position 17, in which the travelling bogie 14 takes out the article W to be delivered, a main branch point 20 communicated with each of positions 16 to 18, a first instruction position 22 for outputting an instruction to transport to the travelling bogie 14 waiting for an instruction to transport, and a second instruction position for outputting a next instruction to transport to the travelling bogie 14 travelling toward the first instruction position 22 after transporting the article.
