PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating material for colored waste water which is effective for various kinds of colored waste water, can efficiently fix and remove color material, and exhibits excellent effect enabling the reduction of BOD and COD, and the like. SOLUTION: The treating material for colored waste water contains a calcium aluminate-based compound, and has a fineness with a Blaine value representing the specific surface area of≥3,000 cm<SP>2</SP>/g.
