摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens for spectacles especially low in the light transmittance of short wavelength visible light with a wavelength of 500 nm or below, and the spectacles. SOLUTION: The lens for the spectacles is obtained by the vapor deposition of a mixture of chromium and chromium oxide on one side of a lens and characterized in that the luminous transmittance prescribed in JIS T 7331 thereof is 75% or above and the transmittance of visible light with a wavelength of 600 nm or below becomes low as visible light becomes a short wavelength. Herein, the transmittance of visible light with a wavelength of 500 nm or below is preferably 80% or below. Further, in a lens excellent in design properties, it is preferable that a vapor deposition surface is the back of the lens becoming a surface near to one's eyes at the time of use of the spectacles.
