PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus-detecting device capable of avoiding an increase in circuit scale of an accumulation control means for controlling accumulation of electric charges in photoelectric conversion element arrays, according to the light intensity of a subject image even if focus detection regions increase in number. SOLUTION: Accumulations in two photoelectric converting element arrays, corresponding to two focus detection regions AV1 and AV3 which are not adjacent to each other among three focus detection regions AV1, AV2, and AV3 set in a photographic image plane, are controlled in common by a single accumulation control circuit.
