PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a charged pattern less expensively on a dielectric surface so as to distribute a material. SOLUTION: A system for printing uses at least one cantilever 104, and more typically a plurality of cantilevers 104 to transfer charge either to or from a dielectric drum surface 108. Thus-obtained charge distribution represents an image. Toner disposed on the dielectric drum surface 108 is attracted to the charged portions of the dielectric. Thus the toner also forms the image.
