PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image management server or the like capable of generating image data for display with a message or the like superimposed upon a proper position without the need of a troublesome operation. SOLUTION: The image management server is provided with a database 208 for storing image data, an image recognition part 201 for recognizing an image in the image data stored in the database 208 and automatically detecting an information insertion position for inserting a message, etc., and a message image generation part 205 and an image compositing part 206 for generating the image data for display in which a message, etc., is superimposed on the detected information insertion position, wherein the database 208 correlates the message, etc., and the information insertion position with the image data and stores the correlated message, etc., and information insertion position separately from the image data.
