PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold-cathode tube drive circuit, in which a plurality of cold cathode tubes 31, 32 are connected to the secondary coil of a step-up transformer, which does not require a transformer for current equalization and which is small in size, light-weighted, and low in cost. SOLUTION: The cold-cathode tube drive circuit comprises a step-up transformer 1 in which a primary coil connected to a high frequency power supply P and a secondary coil connected to cold-cathode tubes 31, 32 are wound, and a plurality of cold cathode tubes 31, 32 connected to the secondary coil of the step-up transformer 1, the secondary coil of the step-up transformer 1 has a plurality of windings 21, 22 corresponding to the number of the cold-cathode tubes 31, 32, and the plurality of cold-cathode tubes 31, 32 are respectively connected to respective windings 21, 22 of the secondary coil.
