PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device whose breakage caused by a stress from the outside is avoided and mobile communication equipment with the liquid crystal display device installed thereon. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is constructed by mounting an LCD driver IC (11) on a glass substrate (5) by using a COG (chip on glass) method, wherein a metal light shielding tape (15) subjected to drawing (17) is mounted on an opposite surface of the glass substrate (5) with the LCD driver IC (11) mounted thereon via a double coated tape (16).
