PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masking apparatus for a thermally sprayed film capable of masking a bulk projecting part to prevent droplets from adhering to portions other than the inner wall of a cylinder bore. SOLUTION: The masking apparatus for the thermally sprayed film is inserted and arranged from a crankcase formed at the bottom end of a cylinder block of a V-type engine toward the lower side of the cylinder bore 4 to prevent the adhesion of the droplets 10 to the crankcase in forming the thermally sprayed film by spraying the molten droplets 10 to the inner wall 4a of the cylinder bore formed in the cylinder block of the V-type engine, in which the bulk projecting part 6a formed in the cylinder block for supporting the crankshaft is covered by a cover 12 which is made freely openable and closable at the time of spraying of the droplets 10 so that the adhesion of the droplets 10 to the bulk projecting part 6a is prevented.
