The method involves positioning a machine-tool e.g. welding robot, on the ground. A hole (112) is drilled through a hole (106) of a base plate (102) to extend into the ground using a piercing tool introduced into a hollow sleeve (104). A positioning unit (107) is introduced in the drilling to be indexed in a position. The positioning unit is then fixed in the hole (112). - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a machine stand.
