The clutch has a clutch plate (7) provided between a drive wheel (1) and a cover (4). Silicone oil is filled between the plate and the cover. The plate is attracted in a direction of a magnetic gap when current passes via a solenoid magnet (12), including housing, to adjust the width of the gap for varying an axial relative distance between zig-zag shaped surfaces of the plate and the cover to alter the oil pressure. An independent claim is also included for an application of a viscous clutch for a drive of a device whose rotational speed is independent of the rotational speed of a rotation source e.g. water pump or a ventilator of a motor vehicle. |
