A method for making seams in textiles and/or films, especially technical textiles, involves guiding a sewing head (4) along a mark on a woven fabric or film with the aid of control signals calculated by a computer (7) from data corresponding to an image of the marking taken by a camera (3). Independent claims are also included for (1) a device (D1) for this method, comprising a mobile sewing head (4) with a camera fixed to it and a computer generating control signals as above (2) a device (D2) for this method, comprising a camera for taking pictures in real time of the marking on fabric or film fixed to a workbench (19) and a computer for generating control signals for the sewing head from data as above .
