[Also in Division H1] A pressure release valve and closure member for a capacitor comprises a rubber coated hardpaper disc having at least one recess 6 in its periphery. The disc is placed in the capacitor, is supported by a ridge 4 and the capacitor edges are rolled over 5 to seal against the rubber coating of the disc. During an overpressure the rolled-over edge releases before the seal is burst from the container. The recesses may be of various shapes (Fig. 1, not shown), the seals may be oval or circular and the seals may be made from strip from (Fig. 4) punched out while the strip is conveyed, between punchings, a distance shorter than the diameter of the seal. |
