A method of cutting or embossing fabric T uses a former F having a surface relief which defines a desired profile/pattern onto which the fabric T is overlaid, an ultrasonic head UH is moveable relative to the former F or fabric T and acts in co-operation with the relief profile/pattern of the former F to emboss and/or cut the fabric T. The ultrasonic head UH may sweep over the former F, and the fabric T may be may be situated between the former F and the ultrasonic head UH. The former F may be mounted on a relatively flat bed or may be mounted on a roller (figure 4). |
