FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; methods of treatment of the steel works slag. ^ SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the ferrous metallurgy, in particular, to the method of treatment of the slag wastes of the steel works. The method includes: injection into the liquid slag of oxygen or a gaseous mixture containing the gaseous oxygen, for the purpose of agitation and oxidation of the slag; addition and dissolution in the agitated liquid slag of the aluminum oxide source and the lime source and, optionally, of the source of oxide of silicon and-or iron; and refrigeration of the slag up to its solidification; at that the amounts of the added sources of aluminum oxide and the lime, and also, optionally, the amounts of the oxide of silicon and-or iron and the cooling rate select such, that the contents of aluminum in the treated slag makes more than 25 mass %,(it is preferable - no less than 30 mass %) from the mass of the treated slag; the contents of the lime in the treated slag makes at least 40 mass % from the mass of the treated slag, and the produced treated slag has the mineralogical composition representing the completely amorphous vitreous phase. The invention also describes the method ensuring production of the treated slag of the mineralogical composition representing one of the following structures: the first set of the phases (1) containing (in mass %): 20-40 CA, 20-50 C2AS, 30-50 C6AF2 and 10-30 C2S; the second set of the phases (2) containing (in mass %): 20-40 C2F, 10-30 C2AS, 20-50 C6AF2 and 10-40 C2S; and the mixture of the amorphous vitreous phase with the first or the second set of the phases. The invention also presents description of the treated LD scale and the material produced with its utilization.
