Cutting tool for lathe turning work is of hard wear-resistant m aterial, polygonal shape, upper surface (12) and lower surface and several edge surfaces joining them. At least one swarf breaker arrangement (22A,22B) is provided in at least one of the lower and upper surfaces. A rounded cutting corner (11) arrangede with a nose cutting edge (19) has a nose part in the region of two edge surface cutting areas. The cutting corner defines a bisectrix. The swarf breaker arrangement has two rectangular swarf breaker segments, between which is an aperture, providing access to a cooling fluid jet. Each swarf breaker segment has rounded ends, and their size is determined by their length = nose radius x 0.75 radius, width = length/4 and height = 0/15 - 0.5 mm. |
