FIELD: tube production processes and equipment, possibly presses for piercing ingots cast by siphon way to sleeves. ^ SUBSTANCE: on working surface of head of piercing punch cone recess is formed. Dimensions of said recess are determined by next relations: Hd = (0.08 -0.15)Dp ; Db =(0.25 - 0.95)Dp; alpha = 30 - 45° where Hd - depth of recess; Dp - diameter of punch; Db - diameter of base of cone recess on working end of punch head; alpha - inclination angle of recess generatrix. It provides displacement of significant volume of more dense and more pure metal from bottom part of ingot to its mostly contaminated and low-density head part. ^ EFFECT: lowered number of flaws in tubes. ^ 5 dwg
