A wireless infrared transmission device has infrared receivers (11, 11`) on the seats and infrared transmitters (10, 10`) connected to a control unit (9). The device transmits data between each seat and unit, during impact, to actuate the equipment independent of the seat position with respect to a floor pan (4).
