The control has an ultrasonic sensor (15) for evaluating a distance (D) between a foot (7) and a pedal and transmitting a value of the distance to a computer (5). The computer and a control assembly (4) reduce progressively the speed of the vehicle when the foot approaches the pedal and brings back the speed of the vehicle to a preset value when the foot is far away from the pedal.
