The device has an insert (7) integrated to an internal combustion engine and sliding in a groove (8) integrated to an oxidation precatalytic converter. A locking system (9) e.g. screw, applies a calibrated pinching force on the insert by controlling its displacement in the groove. The insert includes a tubular mouth piece at its one end and a retaining bracket to connect to the insert to the engine. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a fixation fixing an internal combustion engine and an oxidation precatalytic converter.
