The washer has a circular central base (20) and edges (22) extending outwards from the base in being spaced around periphery of the base. A differential pinion shaft (18) engaged in a differential case (16) by passing through two bores of the case, is immobilized by fixing the washer and another washer in the corresponding bores and butting the washers. Each washer has a diameter greater than that of respective bore. An independent claim is also included for a transmission differential for a motor vehicle.
