PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recorder capable of controlling timing of recording information to a patterned medium by a simple structure, and its control method. SOLUTION: This recorder is provided with a recording/reproducing head 12 which faces a patterned medium 11 to move relatively to the same, and records information to the patterned medium 11. A clock signal generation part 14 generates a clock signal concerning the moving timing of the recording/reproducing head 12 on the recording area of the patterned medium 11 on the basis of a signal read from the patterned medium 11 by the recording/reproducing head 12. The information is recorded to the patterned medium 11 on the basis of the information recording timing of the recording/reproducing head 12 decided by a relation with the generated clock signal.
