PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an area of a bearing surface decreases and surfacing force acquired by pneumatic bearing characteristics sharply decreases in the case of a small slider. SOLUTION: A shallow groove surface 4a and surfacing planes 2a, 2b are provided on the inflow side of the bearing surface 8 of the slider 1 and the surfacing planes 2a, 2b are connected by a connection surfacing plane 7. A side shallow groove surface 4b extended to near an outflow edge is provided behind the surfacing planes 2a, 2b. On the other hand, a center surfacing plane 2c is provided and a magnetic head 3 is loaded on the outflow edge of the slider 1. A center shallow groove surface 4c is provided on the in-flow side of the center surfacing plane 2c and a deep groove surface 5 is provided at the center of the bearing surface 8. There is no cutting margin on both sides of the slider and the surfacing planes 2a, 2b on the in-flow side are constituted so that they reach the end surface in the slider width direction. In addition, the shallow groove surface 4a on the in-flow side and the side shallow groove surface 4b are also constituted so that they reach the end surface of the slider width direction.
