PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of a Web server by enabling a client to perform heavy processing, such as image data conversion that has been performed at the side of the Web server conventionally. SOLUTION: A Web client device uses a Web browser for communicating with the Web server for managing a document. In the Web client device, when document data are transmitted to the Web server, a thumbnail in the document data is created, and the Web browser is used for transmitting the document data and the thumbnail to the Web server.
