PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new azobenzene derivative compound easily synthesized and purified, and capable of readily and easily forming an aggregation. SOLUTION: The azobenzene derivative compound is represented by general formula (I) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, an amino group, an ester group, a nitro group, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a cycloalkyl group or a heterocyclic group; m and n are each independently an integer of 1-6; R<SB>2</SB>to R<SB>9</SB>are each independently a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; p and q are each independently an integer of 3-28; and r is 0 or 1).
