According to the conventional technique for reproducing a frame of a small image change amount at a high speed and a frame of a large image change amount at a low speed, it may be impossible to perform a high-speed reproduction representing the outline of the moving picture data. There is provided a moving picture reproduction device including reproduction speed control means controlling a reproduction speed in a summary reproduction according to a scene feature amount of a plurality of frames. The device performs a plurality of summary reproductions of different reproduction features enabling a user to easily grasp an outline of the moving picture data while suppressing fluctuation of the reproduction speed.
