<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and light fuel cell capable of surely performing sealing for every unit cell, thereby, capable of reducing the thickness and easily performing maintenance, and capable of free geometric design. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell is provided with a plate-like solid polymer electrolyte 1, a cathode side electrode plate 2 arranged on one side of the solid polymer electrolyte 1, an anode side electrode plate 3 arranged on the other side, a cathode side metal plate 4 disposed on a surface of the cathode side electrode plate 2 and an anode side metal plate 5 disposed on a surface of the anode side electrode plate 3. An opening part 4c with an opening ratio of 7-30% is provided in an area where the cathode side electrode plate 2 contacts the cathode side metal plate 4 and peripheral edges of the metal plates 4, 5 on both sides are electrically insulated and mechanically sealed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
