<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which thermal runaway at the time of overcharge is suppressed, swelling at high temperature charging storage and long-term charge and discharge cycle at room temperature and high temperatures is reduced, and the capacity residual rate is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode having LiCoO<SB>2</SB>in which a different species element with a packing density of 3.6 g/cc or more as a positive electrode active material is added, a negative electrode having a carbonaceous material as a negative electrode active material, and an organic electrolytic liquid. In the organic electrolytic liquid, alkylbenzene derivative having a third-class carbon adjoining a phenyl group, cyclo-alkylbenzene derivative, or organic aromatic system hydrocarbon derivative made of a kind selected from biphenyl, and ethyl diethylphosphinate are added. It is desirable that the added quantity of the organic aromatic system hydrocarbon derivative is 1 mass% or more and 3 mass% or less against the total mass of the electrolytic liquid, and the added quantity of the ethyl diethylphosphinate is 0.1 mass% or more and 0.5 mass% or less against the total mass of the electrolytic liquid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
