PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a target for X-ray generation capable of generating a high-output X-ray by preventing, even if a rare-earth metal having a low joining property to a metal material with high heat conductivity is used, a crack or separation from being generated by a thermal expansion difference between both the materials. SOLUTION: This target is manufactured by applying nonelectrolytic nickel-boron plating to powder of a boride of a rare-earth metal being a constituent material of the target, thereafter further applying plating thereto by using silver having heat conductivity higher than that of the constituent material, then mixing the powder with the silver plating applied thereto with silver powder being a metal material of the same kind as the metal material having the high heat conductivity, and increasing the pressure thereof at a high temperature and at high pressure to form it into a block-like shape.
