PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image searching device capable of acquiring an accurate search result in a high speed by a low cost when the same or a similar document image relating to a predetermined document is to be searched. SOLUTION: The image searching device for searching the image similar to a search image from among registered images comprises area dividing units (204, 209) for each extracting a plurality of partial areas configuring the image, area feature extracting units (205, 210) for each calculating the number of partial areas and a barycentric position, and a feature volume updating unit (206) for storing the number of calculated partial areas and the barycentric position as an index into an image area managing DB (216), wherein the partial areas corresponding to the number and the barycentric position of each partial area of the search image are to be read to a memory from the image area managing DB (216), then narrowing of the registered images is to be performed based on the read partial areas, and search of the images is to be performed relating to the narrowed registered images.
